Prime Bank Unveils TapIn Sticker

Prime Bank PLC has introduced a next-generation contactless sticker card branded “TapIn”, developed in collaboration with Mastercard. The innovative Near Field Communication solution has been engineered by IDEMIA, with local technological support provided by ADN Technologies Limited. The launch reflects a broader push to accelerate secure and seamless digital payments across the country.

The unveiling ceremony was held at Prime Tower in the capital, where senior representatives from the participating organisations addressed invited guests. Among the speakers were M. Nazim A. Choudhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager of Mastercard Bangladesh; and A. M. Ehsan-ul Haque, Chief Executive Officer of ADN Technologies Limited. They emphasised that technology-led innovation remains central to expanding financial inclusion and modernising payment infrastructure.

Seamless and Contactless Payments

TapIn is a thin, lightweight sticker embedded with Near Field Communication capability. It can be affixed to a mobile telephone, wallet, or other personal items, enabling swift payments by simply tapping on a compatible terminal. The solution reduces reliance on cash and eliminates the need to carry a traditional plastic card, while delivering equivalent functionality.

The sticker is linked directly to a customer’s bank account and can be used at all merchant outlets worldwide that accept Mastercard payments. In addition to in-store purchases, it supports online transactions and cash withdrawals at Prime Bank automated teller machines. The product is integrated with the bank’s proprietary digital banking platform, MyPrime, ensuring account monitoring and transaction management through a unified interface.

Advanced Security Features

Security remains a defining feature of TapIn. The device employs high-grade encryption protocols to safeguard sensitive financial data. An advanced fraud monitoring system continuously analyses transaction patterns to detect suspicious activity. Customers receive instant transaction alerts, enabling real-time oversight and greater financial control.

Across Bangladesh, Mastercard cardholders can access year-round privileges at more than 10,000 partner merchant outlets. Internationally, users may benefit from promotional discounts and incentives within the global Mastercard acceptance network.
