With the onset of the holy festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, passenger and vehicle movement has surged across 21 southern districts of Bangladesh. In response, the iconic Padma Bridge witnessed the transit of 80,402 vehicles over just two days, generating nearly 90 million taka in toll revenue.
The Padma Bridge Authority reported that traffic pressure intensified on Tuesday, 17 March, and Wednesday, 18 March, particularly during daylight hours. Despite the increased volume, no severe congestion or significant disruption was reported. The presence of law enforcement and reinforced traffic management at both ends of the bridge ensured a smooth passage for commuters.

All necessary preparations have been taken to handle emergencies if they arise.
Shibchar Highway Police Officer-in-Charge, Zahirul Islam, confirmed that traffic on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway near Padma Bridge remained normal. Law enforcement personnel were actively present to safeguard passengers and maintain order, preventing any untoward incidents.
