They threatened to take action on their own to have Ziaur Rahman’s grave removed from the Chandrima Udyan in the Sangsad Bhaban region if it is not already there. A posthumous trial for Ziaur Rahman was also demanded by the organization’s army and air force family members for hanging them on October 2, 1977.

They claimed that at the time, a little over a thousand military personnel were unfairly subjected to different punishments, including hanging, in the guise of putting an end to the mutiny. The relatives of army and air force personnel referred to this incident as a disgraceful one in history and claimed that Ziaur Rahman committed these deaths in order to increase his power.

Ziaur Rahman served as a spy in Pakistan during the Liberation War, according to former Appellate Division Judge AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, who spoke at the event. He claimed that Zia essentially entered India as a spy for Pakistan and that as a result, whenever a chance presented itself, Zia mercilessly murdered freedom fighters on the orders of Pakistanis.

He stated that Zia killed numerous individuals in the name of justice, which was nothing more than a sham. Manik added that no one has the authority to engage in politics under the guise of the party Zia founded. He stated that there is no distinction between Jamaat and BNP and that both parties are regarded as anti-liberation groups. He urged the BNP be dissolved. “Zia brutally killed our father 47 years ago,” said lawmaker Naheed Ezaher Khan, the daughter of Shaheed Colonel Khondkar Nazmul Huda, who was killed in the coup d’état on November 7, 1975.
