Young singer Romaisa Tariq from Lahore has secured a place among the top 16 contestants of ‘Pakistan Idol.’ Since joining this popular reality show, her life has been transformed. She says, “Now, wherever I go, people recognise me. It is an incredible feeling, though occasionally there are amusing challenges. Pakistan Idol has brought new colours into my life.”
Romaisa has no formal music training. Her musical journey began inspired by her sister, and with confidence, she stepped onto the main stage of Pakistan Idol.
Her popularity has been boosted by the folk song “Loung Gawacha,” which quickly went viral on social media, giving her nationwide recognition.

Romaisa graduated in business from London University. Her rise to fame began dramatically when she discovered her song had gone viral while dining with friends. She enjoys playing guitar and practising in her free time.
Her mother noted that, despite being from a conservative Pashtun family, she would not hinder her daughter’s dreams. She said, “I will not let anything block my daughter’s path. I want her to grow independently and establish herself.”
