Popular Bangladeshi singer and Closeup One star Salma has released her latest song, ‘Prem Leela’, featuring singer Biplab Saha in a duet. The song brings together Salma’s familiar vocal style and Saha’s distinctive singing, while its accompanying music video blends a romantic theme with elements of traditional Bengali culture.
Released under the banner of Bishwarang Presents, ‘Prem Leela’ has lyrics by lyricist Nirmal Das, with Rajon Saha handling the composition and musical arrangement. The production has been shaped around the emotions associated with love, with the arrangement designed to complement the lyrical theme rather than overpower the vocals.
The accompanying music video also places considerable emphasis on Bengali cultural imagery. Traditional clothing, folk-inspired styling, an aesthetically designed set and other indigenous elements have been incorporated into the visual presentation. Through these details, the makers have sought to connect the romantic mood of the song with familiar aspects of Bengali heritage.
Biplab Saha has also taken responsibility for directing the music video. Anik Chanda handled cinematography, while Zakaria Masud Rony was responsible for make-up. Editing was carried out by Rakib Ahmed, with S M Tushar overseeing colour grading.
The release adds another contemporary romantic song to Salma’s body of work.
