Meteorologist Dr. Md. Omar Faruk provided the official forecast on Tuesday, 17 March, stating that residents should remain cautious as sudden weather changes are expected in several regions.
Over the next 24 hours, temporary gusty or strong winds with lightning and rainfall are likely in parts of the Sylhet division, and in one or two locations in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. Isolated hail may also occur. Daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged across the country.
From 9:00 AM on Wednesday, 18 March, similar conditions are forecast: temporary gusty winds with thundershowers and lightning in one or two areas across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Scattered hail may accompany the rain, and temperatures are expected to rise slightly both during the day and at night.
On Thursday, 19 March, temporary strong winds with lightning and rain are anticipated in one or two locations across Bangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet. Isolated hailstorms may occur, while day and night temperatures are expected to remain mostly stable.
For Friday, 20 March, similar weather is expected in a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet, and in one or two locations in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram. Daytime temperatures will remain largely stable, with a slight drop in night temperatures.
On Saturday, 21 March, temporary gusty or strong winds with lightning and rainfall are forecast in some areas across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet, and in one or two locations in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram. Scattered hailstorms may occur, and both day and night temperatures are expected to decrease slightly.
