The victim was a student of a prestigious educational institution located within the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters in Pilkhana, adjacent to the Azimpur area. While the student’s academic identity has been verified, his permanent residential address and further familial details are currently being investigated by the authorities.
The Azimpur Government Colony is a large residential complex housing government employees, and its ponds are frequently used by locals. However, such incidents highlight the underlying risks associated with unsupervised bathing in deep water bodies. Local police are expected to record an Unnatural Death (UD) case following the completion of the autopsy and the formal identification of the body by his legal guardians.
