Veteran Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has openly expressed frustration over his continued absence from the national side, despite consistent appearances in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL). His remarks came after a commanding performance for Lucknow Super Giants against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he played a decisive role with the ball.

In Sunday’s fixture, Shami delivered a disciplined spell, conceding just nine runs in four overs while claiming two crucial wickets. His scalps included aggressive openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, both known for their explosive starts in the powerplay. The performance once again highlighted his ability to extract control and movement even against high-tempo batting line-ups.

Having previously worked together at the national level, Shami said the mutual understanding has helped him refine his approach and settle quickly into the team structure. He also described Lucknow as a “second home,” reflecting his comfort within the franchise setup.
