Sia Furler has once again reaffirmed her position as Australia’s queen of Spotify, according to newly released streaming data. The Adelaide-born pop superstar and songwriter has made history this week by becoming the first artist to twice top Spotify’s Global Impact List for Australian recording artists.
Her collaboration with David Guetta, “Beautiful People”, claimed the number one spot on the list, which ranks global streams of Australian acts but excludes plays within Australia itself. Sia previously reached the top of the list in 2023 with “Gimme Love”, underlining her enduring international appeal.
Meanwhile, Kevin Parker’s psychedelic pop project Tame Impala has made a powerful impact on the latest top 50, securing seven entries from their fifth studio album, Deadbeat. Four of these songs appear in the top 15, including “Dracula” at number two and “Loser” at number eight, highlighting Tame Impala’s global resonance.
Another Australian artist making waves internationally is The Kid LAROI, the Sydney-raised, Los Angeles-based singer. The Kid LAROI placed seven tracks on the list, including top-ten hits such as “I Know Love” with Tate McRae (No. 3) and “A COLD PLAY” (No. 9), demonstrating the strong connection Australian acts are forging with global audiences.
Other prominent Australian export artists featured in the top tier include Dom Dolla, Dean Lewis, Rüfüs Du Sol, Royel Otis, and Lithe.
Leah Harris, head of artist and label partnerships at Spotify AUNZ, commented:
“It’s impossible not to feel the impact of Australian music wherever you go, whether that’s in the U.S., Europe, or emerging markets where local artists are gaining passionate new fans. The Global Impact List shows how borderless music has become and how Australian artists are connecting with listeners worldwide in meaningful ways.”
