In Solanga, Sirajganj, the skeleton of the missing rickshaw driver Amirul Islam has been recovered, leading to the arrest of three individuals by the DB police. On Wednesday (5 November) afternoon, they appeared in court and confessed their guilt under Section 164.
The arrested individuals are Shaheb Ali (25), son of Sohrab Ali of Choknihal village, Solanga Police Station; Moniruzzaman Sarker (44), son of Shahjahan Ali from the same village; and Abdul Aziz Pramanik (31), son of Abdul Baher from Wasin village, Tarash Upazila.
The deceased rickshaw driver Amirul Islam (20) was the son of the late Ahmmad Ali from Olidah village, Solanga Police Station.
SI Najmul Haque, the investigation officer of Sirajganj DB police, stated that on 5 August, Amirul left home with his rickshaw and never returned. Despite searching in many places, his family could not locate him. A GD was filed by the family at Solanga Police Station.
On 10 October afternoon, a human skeleton was recovered from under water hyacinths in a pond in Choknihal village. The family identified the skeleton as Amirul’s by recognizing his pants. Following this, a case was filed at Solanga Police Station, and the investigation was handed over to the DB police.
Najmul Haque added that during operations from Tuesday to Wednesday morning, the three suspects were arrested. Following their information, various stolen items from the rickshaw were recovered. In court, they confessed their crimes under Section 164. The confessions were recorded by Senior Judicial Magistrate Omar Faruk, and the suspects were subsequently sent to jail.
