Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the recent suicide bombing in Islamabad and blamed India for the attack, stating that the world must now denounce India’s “despicable conspiracies.”
Sharif also held India responsible for a separate attack on a cadet college near the Afghan border in Wana, claiming that both attacks were carried out with the backing of India-supported militant groups.
The Islamabad blast occurred on Tuesday outside the district court, killing at least 12 people and injuring 36 others. The previous day, an attack had taken place at the gate of a cadet college in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Wana.
Commenting on the incidents, Sharif said: “These two attacks are the worst examples of India’s state-sponsored terrorism in the region. It is now time for the world to condemn such heinous conspiracies by India.”
However, while blaming India, Sharif did not present any evidence to support his claims.
According to Pakistan’s newspaper The Dawn, Sharif described the Islamabad blast as “a wake-up call for the nation.” He has ordered an investigation into the incident and vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice.
Regarding the Wana cadet college attack, Sharif alleged that “militant networks, incited by India from Afghan soil, are now targeting children in Wana. No condemnation alone is sufficient for these attacks.”
Sharif further warned that Pakistan would continue its fight against terrorism, stating: “Our struggle will continue until the scourge of terrorism is completely eradicated.”
