Bangabandhu

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920–1975) was the founding father of Bangladesh and its first President. A visionary leader, he spearheaded the struggle for Bengali self-determination, leading to the Liberation War of 1971. As the leader of the Awami League, his historic speech on March 7, 1971, inspired millions to fight for independence. After victory, he worked to rebuild the war-torn nation but was tragically assassinated on August 15, 1975. His legacy remains a cornerstone of Bangladesh’s history, shaping its democratic and socio-political landscape. He is affectionately remembered as the “Father of the Nation” in Bangladesh.
