Teen Van Driver Murdered in Pabna, Three Arrested

A shocking murder in Chatmohor, Pabna, has left the local community in grief and fear. Early on Friday morning, police recovered the body of 17-year-old Imran Hossain following an intensive operation. Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection with the crime, including the primary suspect, Imran’s cousin, 20-year-old Suman Hossain.

Imran Hossain, a resident of Shukurvanga village and the son of the late Omar Ali, worked as a van driver to support his family. Relatives stated that on Wednesday evening, Suman Hossain, accompanied by two associates, hired Imran’s van under the pretext of transport work.

According to police and eyewitness reports, Imran’s van was driven across various areas of Chatmohor from evening until around 10 p.m. Later, in the Ramchandrapur cremation ground, Imran was initially assaulted. Subsequently, Suman and his accomplices allegedly murdered him. The perpetrators then concealed the body in a house located in the neighbouring Bhangura area before fleeing the scene.

Imran’s family, failing to locate him, visited the local market, where they learned that Suman and his associates had hired the van. Concerned by Suman’s inconsistent statements, they alerted the police. Following this, all three suspects were apprehended at Chatmohor Police Station. During preliminary interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the killing.

Chatmohor Police Officer-in-Charge, Golam Sarwar Hossain, confirmed: “The victim’s body bears multiple injuries consistent with an assault. The suspects are currently detained, and the body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
