Two cocktail explosions occurred at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport during the night, though fortunately no casualties were reported.
The first explosion took place on Thursday, 13 November, at 10:20 PM in front of the outgoing gate at the airport roundabout. Shortly afterwards, a second explosion occurred near the Jinjiang Restaurant in Sector 1 of the airport.
Sheikh Rafiqul Islam, the investigating officer of the airport police, stated that the cocktails may have been thrown from the flyover. Police have collected samples from the scene and are investigating the cause of the explosions.
