Two Dead, Dozen Injured in Sylhet Bus Collision

Early on Saturday morning, a head-on collision between two passenger buses on the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway in Osmani Nagar Upazila, Sylhet, claimed the lives of two individuals and left at least twelve others injured. The accident occurred around 7:00 a.m. near the Dayamir Madrasa area, causing significant disruption to traffic and panic among commuters.

According to police reports and eyewitness accounts, a Dhaka-bound bus operated by Ena Transport (registration: Dhaka Metro-B-12-3560) collided head-on with a Sylhet-bound Shyamoli Transport bus (registration: Dhaka Metro-B-24286). Witnesses suggested that both drivers may have lost control, resulting in a powerful and direct impact.

Local residents, aided by personnel from the Tajpur Fire Service and Osmani Nagar Police Station, rushed to the scene to assist the victims. The injured were swiftly transported to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where medical staff confirmed that several were in critical condition and receiving intensive care in the ICU.
