UCB Champions Nationwide Financial Literacy Drive

United Commercial Bank Private Limited (UCB) marked the first Monday of March with a comprehensive Financial Literacy Day initiative across Bangladesh. According to an official press release, the programme aims to enhance public awareness of financial matters while promoting the safe and responsible use of modern banking services.

The 2026 edition of the event carried the central theme: “Ensuring Safe Digital Transactions Through Financial Education”. Simultaneously held at UCB’s headquarters and all divisional branches nationwide, the initiative engaged both urban and rural communities, ensuring inclusivity across diverse regions.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mr. Nabil Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Managing Director of UCB, while the sessions were conducted under the guidance of Mr. Shahbaz Talat, Senior Executive Vice President. In his address, Mr. Rahman emphasised:

“Merely using mobile or online banking is not enough. Customers must understand how to conduct transactions securely. UCB is committed to providing guidance, raising awareness, and promoting safe digital banking habits.”

He further noted that with the rapid expansion of digital transactions, possessing accurate knowledge has become essential for all citizens.

UCB has outlined a multi-pronged plan for 2026, prioritising the expansion of digital banking infrastructure, increasing cyber security awareness, and strengthening customer education programmes.
