A pall of grief and uncertainty has descended over Hazaribagh in Dhaka following the discovery of the body of a Dhaka University student in his rented accommodation. The deceased, identified as Saeidul Amin Simanto (25), was a final-year undergraduate student in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Dhaka.
According to local residents and relevant sources, the incident came to light in the early hours of 2 April when Simanto was found unconscious inside his residence on Moneshwar Road in Hazaribagh. Neighbours and housemates immediately alerted emergency services after noticing something was amiss. He was subsequently taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital after the door to his room was forcibly opened.
