Young Man Stabbed to Death in Hazaribagh, Dhaka

In a shocking incident in Hazaribagh, Dhaka, a 24-year-old man, identified as Mohammad Shipon, was brutally stabbed to death by unidentified assailants. The attack occurred in the Jhauchhar area of the capital, leaving the local community in fear and distress.

According to reports, the incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, 31 December, around 3:30 a.m. Local residents discovered Shipon in a critically injured state in the lane adjacent to Siam School and immediately alerted the Hazaribagh police. He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s emergency department, where attending doctors confirmed his death upon arrival.

Hazaribagh police Sub-Inspector (SI) Suman Chandra Shekh confirmed the tragic event, stating, “We received a report via the 999 hotline at approximately 2:45 a.m., indicating that a young man was lying in a pool of blood in the Jhauchhar lane near Siam School. Our team immediately rushed to the scene and transported him to the hospital, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival.”

SI Shekh added that Shipon had suffered multiple stab wounds, primarily to the head and other parts of his body, indicating the use of a sharp-edged weapon. “At this stage, it is not yet clear who carried out this attack or what the motive was. A thorough investigation is underway,” he said. Shipon’s body has been sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
