Himi Debuts as Singer in Valentine’s Musical Treat

This Valentine’s Day, the Bangladeshi entertainment landscape is set to witness a unique crossover as popular actress Jannatul Sumaiya Himi makes her debut as a singer. The music video, titled “Dujon Dujonar” (Two of a Kind), features Himi alongside rising singer Rafi, marking a significant milestone in her decade-long career in the media industry.

A Romantic Collaboration

The project is a star-studded affair, bringing together some of the most respected names in the Bangladeshi music scene. The lyrics have been penned by the National Film Award-winning lyricist Kavir Bakul, with a soulful melody composed by Pulak Adhikari. The visual narrative of the song features Himi herself acting opposite the popular small-screen heartthrob Tawsif Mahbub, under the direction of Saikat Reza.

From Screen to Sound: Himi’s New Chapter

Jannatul Sumaiya Himi, who first rose to prominence after winning the “Rang-Rtv Twenty Twenty Colors Model Search” in 2014, has become a household name with over 100 dramas boasting more than 10 million views each. While her fans are accustomed to seeing her lead romantic and comedic telefilms, this musical venture adds a new dimension to her artistry.

Speaking about her excitement, Himi shared:

“Every Valentine’s Day, many of my dramas are released, and this year is no different. However, this is the first time one of my own songs is being released. I am incredibly thrilled. Acting in the music video for my own song has made the experience even more special; I simply cannot wait for the audience to see it.”

Mentorship and Potential

Lyricist Kavir Bakul, who has a keen eye for spotting talent, expressed high hopes for the duo. He noted that Rafi possesses significant potential as a newcomer. Interestingly, this isn’t Himi’s first time working with Bakul; the two previously collaborated on a musical segment for the legendary magazine show Ittyadi, which was well-received by the public.

The track is scheduled for release under the Soundtek banner on 13 February 2026, perfectly timed to serve as a romantic anthem for the Valentine’s season. As the industry shifts toward multi-talented performers, Himi’s transition from a record-breaking actress to a playback singer is expected to be one of the highlights of this year’s cultural celebrations.
