Tragedy struck the Anwara Upazila of Chattogram on Sunday morning when two construction workers fell from a building under construction, resulting in their deaths. The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 am in the Gundhip Para area of Botoli Union, at a site owned by local resident Kalu Saudagar.

Incident Details
According to eyewitness accounts, six workers began plastering the six-storey structure at around 10:00 am. Siam and Anis were engaged in working on the railings when, unexpectedly, the railing collapsed. The pair fell onto scaffolding below, which also gave way under their weight. Siam was pronounced dead at the scene, while Anis, though initially rescued and taken to hospital, succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Eyewitness worker Junaid Islam said, “There were two of us working inside and four outside. Suddenly the railing gave way, and two of our colleagues fell to the ground.”
Medical and Police Response
Dr. Muntasir Jahin of Anwara Health Complex confirmed that the bodies of both workers remain at the hospital and that authorities have been notified. Officer-in-Charge of Anwara Police Station, Md. Junayet Chowdhury, stated that the bodies are being transferred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. He added that a thorough investigation is underway and legal action will follow based on findings.
