A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning in Moulvibazar’s Kamalganj Upazila, where a 20-year-old man, Zubayer Ahmed, lost his life after reportedly falling from a moving train. The accident took place near Bridge No. 168 adjacent to Bhanugach Railway Station in the Magurchhara area.
Zubayer, a resident of Saribari village in Kamalganj Sadar Union, was the son of Chorag Ali. According to local sources, passersby discovered his body beneath the railway bridge along the Srimangal–Bhanugach line and immediately informed the Kamalganj police. The authorities, upon arrival, notified the Railway GRP (Government Railway Police) of the incident.
Preliminary police reports indicate that a single shoe and some loose change were recovered at the scene. Notably, Zubayer sustained severe injuries to the right side of his face, suggesting that he may have fallen from a moving train. While the precise circumstances remain unclear, officials are investigating the possibility of an accidental fall.
Kamalganj police chief, Officer-in-Charge Abdul Awal, visited the site following the report and confirmed that the case had been handed over to railway authorities for further investigation. “The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Our investigation is ongoing in coordination with the railway police,” he stated.
