Expatriate’s Wife Murdered in Feni After Intruders Breach Roof

Police have recovered the bound and lifeless body of a 30-year-old housewife from her residence in the Feni district. The victim, identified as Kajol Akter, was found with her limbs tied and her mouth taped.

The grim discovery occurred on Saturday morning, 27 June, inside a residential building belonging to Ismail Master in South Talbaria village, located within the Amjadhat union of Phulgazi upazila. Kajol Akter was the wife of Nurul Amin, an expatriate worker currently employed in Kuwait, and she was the mother of three children. The brutal killing has sent shockwaves through the local community, sparking widespread panic.

A Calculated Late-Night Intrusions

According to local sources and police investigators, the crime took place in the dead of night on Friday. Assailants carried out a calculated break-in by cutting through the corrugated tin sheets of the house’s roof to gain access inside. Once inside the room, the intruders overpowered Kajol Akter. They bound her hands and feet securely before tightly wrapping adhesive tape around her mouth to muffle any screams.

The victim was subjected to a fatal assault, suffering severe head trauma. She was left dead on the floor from her injuries.

Significantly, her three-year-old child was present in the room during the entire ordeal but remained physically unharmed. Her other two children escaped the tragedy as they were staying away from home, residing at a local Hefz madrasa where they are enrolled in religious studies.

Initial Discoveries and Unfolding Investigation

The horrific crime came to light on Saturday morning when neighbours noticed unusual activity at the residence. Upon checking the house, they discovered the bounded, bloody body of the victim and immediately notified the local authorities. A dispatch team from the Phulgazi Police Station arrived promptly to secure the crime scene and retrieve the body.

The relatives of the deceased have described the circumstances surrounding the murder as deeply suspicious. Believing this was not a random act, they have urged the authorities to unravel the mystery swiftly and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Commenting on the initial findings, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Phulgazi Police Station, S M Mizanur Rahman, stated that the physical evidence collected from the house suggests the crime was not a routine burglary or home invasion. No obvious signs of pilferage or missing valuables were observed.

Law enforcement officials suspect a targeted vendetta or deep-seated personal enmity may have motivated the attack. The body has been transferred to the Feni General Hospital morgue for a mandatory post-mortem examination. Multiple police units have commenced an intensive investigation, and formal legal proceedings are currently being finalised.
