Dhallywood actress Cindy Rolling, widely recognised for introducing international-standard dance numbers to Bangladeshi cinema, is set to return to the silver screen after a prolonged hiatus. She has signed on to perform in two upcoming item songs, including one for the film Jiboner Khela, directed by Walid Ahmed. Known for her distinctive style, glamour, and precision, the actress is personally designing her wardrobe for both tracks to ensure a fresh aesthetic for her audience.
This announcement follows the positive critical reception of her performance in the recently released action thriller Masud Rana. Throughout her career, Rolling has established a reputation for maintaining strict creative oversight over her on-screen presentation, frequently collaborating with production teams to elevate the visual standard of her appearances.
Although Rolling has previously shared the screen with major industry figures such as Shakib Khan and Arifin Shuvo, Jiboner Khela marks her first professional collaboration with actor Sajal. The project represents a significant milestone for the production, blending her background in high-energy dance sequences with the film’s contemporary narrative framework.
Discussing her preparation, Rolling emphasised her commitment to the technical and stylistic aspects of the upcoming tracks. “I am deeply grateful to director Walid Ahmed for placing his trust in my vision,” she stated. “Throughout my career, I have prioritized styling and wardrobe, constantly contributing ideas to the production crew. I even managed the choreography for Common Gender and Chorabali. For these new tracks, I am undergoing rigorous preparation to deliver a completely transformed look that will surprise the audience.”
Rolling initially entered mainstream Bangladeshi cinema through a standout musical appearance in the critically acclaimed film Common Gender, directed by Noman Robin. Her breakthrough performance quickly led to subsequent high-profile projects, including Redoan Rony’s thriller Chorabali, where her performance was set to a score composed by the renowned musician Fuad Al Muqtadir. Her popularity grew further following successful appearances in mainstream commercial projects such as Kistimat and Superhero.
Beyond her commercial success in musical numbers, Rolling has also earned significant critical recognition for her acting capabilities. Her debut film, Common Gender, achieved international visibility after being selected for screening at the prestigious Golden Globe Film Festival structure.
In 2024, her artistic versatility was further validated when she clinched the Best Actress award at the Suchitra Sen International Film Festival in New York for her performance in the film Megher Kopot. Building upon a legacy that includes Kistimat and Chorabali, her latest cinematic venture aims to merge high-fashion aesthetics with mainstream commercial appeal.
