BNP is trusted haven for militancy: Quader
“The BNP blamed the Awami League over the escape of militants from the court premises in Dhaka. But BNP is the sponsor of militancy. Shaykh Abdur Rahman and Bangla Bhai had emerged during the BNP regime,” he said.
Speaking at the Lakshmipur Zilla AL’s triennial conference on the district stadium grounds was Quader, who is also the minister for roads, bridges, and transit. In December, the month of independence, a game will be played against the BNP, as well as one against falsehood and those who kept money in Swiss banks, he warned.
The AL general secretary said the global economic recession is going on. Foreign reserve capable of meeting demands of three months is enough to overcome the crisis, but Bangladesh has the foreign reserve for six months. The BNP is capitalizing on it and creating anarchy in the name of the movement, he said, urging the country’s people to keep trust in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the AL.
According to Quader, the BNP earlier said that the AL government wouldn’t be able to finish the Padma Bridge project, but the government has already completed numerous megaprojects, including this one. Now the party is occupied with spreading misinformation against the government.
The conference was officially opened by Obaidul Quader in the presence of other members of the AL Presidium, including Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim and Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, the joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, the organizing secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, the secretary for youth and sports affairs Harunur Rashid, and the secretary for relief and social welfare affairs Sujit Roy Nandi. The event was presided over by Golam Faruk Rinku, president of the Lakshmipur Zilla AL, and moderated by Nuruddin Chowdhury Nayan, general secretary.
