From 1 December 2025, gold in Bangladesh will be sold at BDT 210,570 per bhori, following a revision by the Bangladesh Association of Jewelers and Goldsmiths (BAJUS). The adjustment comes after a reduction of BDT 2,403 on 29 November.

BAJUS clarified that the sale price includes a 5% government Value Added Tax (VAT) and a 6% minimum labour charge, which may vary depending on the jewellery’s design and quality.

For comparison, 22-carat gold was previously priced at BDT 208,167 per bhori on 20 November, indicating a moderate increase in the market rate over the last ten days.

BAJUS officials noted that gold prices are influenced by international market trends, currency fluctuations, and domestic demand. Consumers are advised to consider these factors when purchasing jewellery, especially ahead of the festive season.

The association also reminded buyers that the final price may include additional charges based on the craftsmanship and complexity of designs, particularly for handcrafted items. Jewellery traders and consumers are encouraged to verify rates before transactions to ensure transparency and adherence to the official BAJUS price list.
