The Giant Centre in Hershey came alive on 14 December as Heart reminded fans why they are considered rock royalty. Their concert was a masterclass in classic rock performance, blending powerful vocals, intricate guitar work, and heartfelt storytelling.
The opening act, Starship with Mickey Thomas, set a high bar with a mix of Jefferson Airplane hits and Starship favourites. Chelsee Foster delivered flawless renditions of classics such as “White Rabbit” and “(Don’t You Want) Somebody to Love,” while Thomas’s playful charisma shone on “Fooled Around and Fell In Love.” His interaction with the audience, including a humorous back-and-forth of thanks, warmed the crowd for the main event.
Heart then took the stage, with Ann Wilson immediately asserting her presence through her signature powerhouse vocals. Nancy Wilson contributed both guitar brilliance and lead vocals on songs such as “These Dreams,” while providing harmonies on “Never” and “Straight On.” Their band, described by Nancy as the best lineup in Heart’s history, provided a tight, energetic backing.
The sisters shared stories between songs, highlighting their journey from performing wherever electricity was available—even when running water was not—to achieving decades of fan loyalty. The band also delighted fans with covers, including Led Zeppelin’s “California Song,” “The Ocean,” “The Rain Song,” as well as David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” and Joni Mitchell’s “River.” Nancy’s solo performance of “For Edward,” inspired by Eddie Van Halen, added emotional resonance to the night.
Fans were treated to all the anthems they had come to love. “Crazy On You” opened the set, flowing into “Dog & Butterfly,” and a mash-up of “Alone” and “What About Love” kept the energy high. After a playful faux exit, the Wilson sisters returned for a show-stopping encore with “Barracuda,” sending fans home exhilarated.
For many, this was more than a concert—it was a nostalgic reunion with a band whose influence on classic rock remains indelible. Heart’s Hershey performance proved that, even decades later, their music continues to inspire and energise fans old and new alike.
