With the 2026 FIFA World Cup fast approaching, the world’s most prestigious football trophy is set to arrive in Bangladesh. Organised by Coca-Cola, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will reach Dhaka on 14 January, offering the nation’s football enthusiasts a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the iconic trophy up close. This exclusive event promises to heighten excitement and bring the thrill of the World Cup vividly to life for local fans.
Mickael Vigne, Vice President of Global Assets, Influencers, and Partnerships at Coca-Cola, stated, “Through the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, we are delighted to bring fans closer to the heart of the game. This tour provides a unique chance to experience the passion and exhilaration of football in an up-close and personal way.” He added, “The emotions, anticipation, and intensity felt during a football match are what we aim to celebrate by bringing the trophy directly to Bangladesh.”
As part of this worldwide tour, the trophy will visit 30 FIFA member countries, covering 75 locations over approximately 150 days. Fans in each country will be given the rare privilege of witnessing the coveted trophy in person, fostering a deeper connection to the tournament.
FIFA’s Chief Business Officer, Romy Gai, emphasised the trophy’s significance: “The FIFA World Cup Trophy is recognised as the ultimate symbol of global football. Through our longstanding partnership with Coca-Cola, fans can experience the excitement and emotion of the World Cup firsthand. This year’s tour is particularly special, marking the 20th anniversary of the Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola. Over the past two decades, the trophy has visited 182 of 211 FIFA member countries.”
In Bangladesh, Coca-Cola has launched an interactive ‘Under the Cap’ promotional campaign, allowing fans to win tickets to see the trophy and take photographs with it. Participants must purchase a 1-litre promotional pack, scan the QR code on the bottle, submit a unique code online, and answer a World Cup-themed quiz. The fastest correct responses each hour will be rewarded with exclusive trophy-viewing tickets.
Moreover, the tour is committed to environmental sustainability, incorporating packaging collection, recycling initiatives, and other eco-friendly measures.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 promises to be the largest tournament in history, hosted for the first time across three countries—United States, Mexico, and Canada. With the most teams participating and the highest number of matches ever, the arrival of the trophy in Bangladesh offers local football fans an unforgettable experience, bringing the magic and excitement of the World Cup directly to their doorstep.
