BPL 2025–26 Kicks Off in Sylhet

The 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) officially begins today, ushering in a month-long celebration of T20 cricket in Bangladesh. The tournament opens in Sylhet, with the final scheduled for 23 January in Dhaka.

This season features six teams—Dhaka Capitals, Sylhet Titans, Chattogram Royals, Rangpur Riders, Rajshahi Warriors, and Noakhali Express—competing across three venues: Sylhet, Chattogram, and Dhaka. A total of 34 matches will take place, beginning with the Sylhet Titans vs Rajshahi Warriors match this afternoon, followed by Noakhali Express vs Chattogram Royals in the evening.

After the Sylhet leg, the tournament moves to Chattogram before concluding in Dhaka. The play-offs will be held exclusively at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, with the Eliminator and first Qualifier on 19 January, the second Qualifier on 21 January, and the final on 23 January. Reserve days are in place for any unforeseen disruptions.

Sylhet is expected to provide a strong home crowd, while fans across the country can follow matches scheduled in both afternoon and evening slots. Despite off-field challenges in franchise management, players and enthusiasts are keenly awaiting competitive action. The BPL continues to be a key platform for domestic talent to shine alongside experienced cricketers.
