South Korea’s prominent singer and producer MC Mong has found himself at the centre of fresh controversy, as rumours circulate regarding an alleged extramarital relationship with Cha Ga-won, Chief Executive Officer of entertainment company One Hundred.
Several Korean media outlets have reported that MC Mong was involved in a close personal relationship with the married executive. The allegations claim that Cha Ga-won provided him with substantial sums of money and luxury vehicles on multiple occasions.
In addition, purported private conversations between the two were recently leaked online, further intensifying public speculation.
However, MC Mong has categorically denied all accusations. In a formal statement, he described the reports as “baseless and deliberately fabricated,” emphasising that he intends to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading false information. Regarding the leaked conversations, he asserted that they had been heavily edited and entirely manufactured, stating: “From beginning to end, everything in the records has been distorted.”
It is notable that MC Mong and Cha Ga-won co-founded One Hundred in 2023. In June of this year, MC Mong stepped down from his role within the company. He explained that his decision was driven by a desire to protect the organisation and insisted that his relationship with Cha Ga-won had always been strictly professional.
One Hundred has also released a separate statement rejecting the extramarital relationship allegations. The company’s internal investigation reportedly confirmed that the leaked conversation records had been manipulated. The statement further emphasised: “We will not tolerate malicious defamation or the dissemination of false information against our artists or management under any circumstances.”
