Dhaka, 18 January 2026: The lifeless body of a 25-year-old man, identified as Kamal, was discovered hanging in his room at a Shahbag residence on Sunday night. The incident occurred at a flat located on 9/5 Secretariat Road, according to local sources.
Relatives reported that Kamal allegedly took his own life by hanging in his room. Upon realising the situation, family members broke down the door and removed him from the fan to prevent further harm. He was immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending doctors conducted a medical examination and pronounced him dead at 10:45 PM.
Inspector Md. Faruk, officer-in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed the incident, stating that the body has been preserved in the hospital morgue. The relevant police station has been formally notified, and preliminary documentation of the case has begun.
At present, the reason behind Kamal’s apparent suicide remains unclear. His father, Kamal’s immediate relative, said he is unaware of any cause or prior indication of distress that might have led to this tragic event. Authorities have not yet disclosed any notes or messages from the deceased, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
