Appointing a New MD and CEO at Dhaka Bank

Dhaka Bank PLC has appointed Osman Ershad Faiz as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), entrusting him with steering the bank through a dynamic and increasingly complex financial landscape. With over three decades of international banking experience, Faiz’s leadership is expected to strengthen the bank’s operational resilience while driving technological advancement.

Faiz brings to Dhaka Bank a wealth of expertise spanning banking strategy, technology, operations, digital transformation, core banking platforms, and fintech solutions. Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Eastern Bank PLC from January 2025, where he played a pivotal role in operational excellence and strategic growth initiatives.

In addition to his banking roles, Faiz co-founded Asia FiiT, a Singapore-based fintech and banking consultancy. His leadership in technology-driven and inclusive work environments has earned global recognition, including the prestigious “Legend” award at the 2023 World CIO 200 Summit, and multiple listings in the HERoes Global Role Model index.

Faiz holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and an MBA from Aligarh Muslim University. He has completed executive education programmes at INSEAD and Oxford University’s Saïd Business School. His professional career began in 1993 as a Management Trainee at American Express.
