The pressure has increased significantly after another FIFA sanction was added to the club’s existing list. Kings had already been dealing with 11 separate sanctions imposed by FIFA over disputes related to unpaid dues involving players and coaches. With one more case added, the total number of sanctions against the club has risen to 12.
The situation could create serious complications for the champions. Under FIFA regulations, a club facing a registration ban cannot register new players until the issue is resolved. For a team preparing to defend its domestic title, such restrictions could directly affect squad planning and recruitment strategies.
The domestic transfer window for the new football season was originally scheduled to begin on 1 June. However, the process was delayed several times because of FIFA sanctions affecting both Bashundhara Kings and Dhaka Abahani. The transfer period was eventually moved to the first week of July.
Abahani have made progress in addressing their situation, with two of their three sanctions reportedly withdrawn while another remains under review. Kings, however, continue to face a more complicated scenario due to the higher number of outstanding cases.
The domestic transfer window will remain open until 3 September. Before that deadline, all participating clubs must complete their squad registration process. Each team is required to register at least 23 footballers by 13 August, ahead of the expected start of the Bangladesh Premier League and Federation Cup in the final week of August.

The club has enjoyed remarkable success since entering the professional football scene, becoming a dominant force through strong squad-building and consistent performances.
