Her formal introduction to choreography and dance began at the age of five under the guidance of Ostad Dulal Talukdar. To advance her classical training, she joined the prestigious Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA) in 1967. Over the subsequent decades, she earned widespread recognition for her expertise in Odissi, a rigorous classical dance genre, becoming one of its primary exponents in Bangladesh.
