A cocktail explosion occurred in front of the gate of Ispahani Girls’ School and College in the Hatirjheel area of the capital on Tuesday morning. The incident took place shortly before 8:00 am, but no casualties were reported.

According to a message from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the explosion happened at around 7:50 am. Police said that a crude explosive device was thrown from the flyover above and detonated on the road in front of the school and college gate.

The blast caused brief panic among students, guardians and passers-by in the area. However, the situation returned to normal within a short time. The DMP confirmed that no one was injured and no major damage to nearby structures was reported. Law enforcement agencies have since increased security and monitoring in the area.

Police officials stated that members of the law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene immediately after the explosion and conducted a search operation.
