Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has made his debut for Portugal’s Under-16 national team. The young forward had previously represented the country at the Under-15 level, but he was unable to play the full match on his debut for the new age group.
In the Federations Cup clash against Turkey, the 15-year-old winger came on as a substitute for the final few minutes of the game. Goals from Sporting Lisbon’s Samuel Tavares and SC Braga’s Rafael Cabral secured a 2–0 victory for Portugal in the Under-16 Federations Cup.
Known affectionately as ‘Cristianinho’, the young attacker had an impressive spell with the Under-15 team. Last May, he made his first international appearance for Portugal at the Vlatko Marković Tournament held in Croatia, where he caught attention by scoring twice in the final against the host nation.
From an early age, his footballing skills have been widely shared across news and social media through photos and videos. Building on that recognition, Ronaldo Jr is following in his father’s footsteps. The 15-year-old currently plays club football for the academy of Al Nassr, the Saudi Pro League side where his father, Cristiano Ronaldo, also plays.
