“As many as 262 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 215 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the past 24 hours,” a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said. “A total of 240 people died from dengue disease between January 1 and November 23. The first death from dengue was reported on June 21, this year,” the daily statement of the DGHS said.
With the additional instances, there are now 54,405 dengue patients in total this year, while 52,083 people have been discharged from hospitals. Mirpur, Uttara, Mugda, Jatrabari, Dhanmondi, and Mohammadpur in Dhaka city have reportedly been classified as dengue hotspots, according to DGHS sources. Cox’s Bazar, after Dhaka, has the largest number of cases, according to the report.
