The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced this information in a statement on Monday night. The new rates will come into effect from Tuesday. The price adjustment was made due to the rise in the local market for pure gold.

18-carat: Tk 167,145 per vori

The statement also noted that a 5% government VAT and a 6% minimum labour charge set by BAJUS should be added to the selling price. However, labour charges may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.
