Green Delta, Wagely Launch Digital Nano Insurance

Dhaka, BangladeshGreen Delta Insurance PLC has recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with Wagely, aiming to introduce Digital Nano Insurance for workers in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector. The initiative is designed to make health insurance more accessible and affordable for thousands of workers, marking a significant step towards enhancing social protection in the industry.

Under this innovative scheme, approximately 250,000 Wagely users and their family members will gain coverage that includes both In-Patient Department (IPD) and Out-Patient Department (OPD) health services. Remarkably, the cost of this insurance is less than one US dollar, allowing workers to secure essential health services and financial protection at minimal expense.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was jointly signed by Syed Farhad Abbas Hossain, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Underwriting at Green Delta Insurance PLC, and Noor Ahli, Managing Director of Wagely. Through this collaboration, both organisations aim to strengthen social security for export-oriented garment workers, enhance workforce capabilities, and improve overall financial well-being.

Experts highlight that the introduction of digital nano insurance could open a new frontier for healthcare access in Bangladesh. Beyond reducing health-related risks, it is expected to deliver tangible benefits in financial security, quality of life, and long-term workforce productivity. By facilitating affordable healthcare, the scheme may also support greater employment stability and efficiency in the RMG sector.
