Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Leads Eid Prayers

Jagannath University (JUB) marked Eid al-Fitr on Saturday with its central congregation led by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Raees Uddin. The Eid prayer commenced at 8:30 am at the university’s central mosque, attracting a large gathering of worshippers from across the campus, including students, faculty, and staff.

The congregation reflected the inclusive and communal spirit of Eid, bringing together university members from diverse backgrounds. Faculty members, administrative officials, student leaders of various organisations, and general students participated, contributing to a serene yet festive atmosphere. The collective prayers marked the culmination of Ramadan, highlighting both devotion and unity within the academic community.

Following the prayers, a special supplication (dua) was offered, invoking blessings for the nation, its citizens, and the global Muslim community. The dua emphasised national prosperity, peace, and the well-being of the Ummah, reinforcing Eid’s message of reflection, gratitude, and hope.

Professor Dr. Raees Uddin led the congregation as Imam, concluding the ceremony by personally exchanging Eid greetings with attendees. His presence underscored the importance of spiritual leadership within educational institutions and highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering community engagement alongside academic excellence.

The event also offered an opportunity for students and faculty to connect beyond their academic routines, strengthening bonds within the campus community and celebrating cultural and religious traditions together. The vibrant gathering reflected how universities can serve as spaces for nurturing both intellectual growth and moral values, particularly during significant cultural and religious occasions.
