A pregnant female entrepreneur has initiated formal legal proceedings against a local political leader belonging to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and his associates. The lawsuit details allegations of physical violence, financial extortion, and deliberate public humiliation. The formal complaint was filed directly with the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Narsingdi on Thursday, 18 June 2026, following what the complainant described as a failure by local police to register the case.
The primary defendant named in the judicial filing is Aminur Rahman Sarkar Dolon, who holds the position of member secretary for the Monohardi upazila unit of the BNP. The legal petition also names two of his alleged accomplices: Abdul Jabbar, a resident of the Harordia area, and Moktar Uddin Talukder, hailing from the Arjunchar locality within the same sub-district.
According to the deposition submitted by the victimised business owner, the altercation stems from an ongoing extortion demand. The complainant alleges that Aminur Rahman Sarkar Dolon and his associates had been systematically pressuring her to pay an illegal demand of 100,000 Bangladeshi Taka (BDT). Because she continuously refused to comply with these financial ultimatums, the group allegedly subjected her to a series of threats and intimidation tactics over an extended period.
The hostility culminated on the afternoon of 7 May 2026. The legal complaint states that the defendants formed an unlawful assembly and forcibly entered the victim’s commercial establishment, a beauty parlour located within the Monohardi upazila. Once inside the premises, the men reportedly reiterated their demands for the immediate delivery of the extortion money. When the pregnant entrepreneur again firmly declined to pay the sum, the confrontation turned violent.
The accused individuals allegedly launched a physical assault against the pregnant business owner, striking her repeatedly with a plastic pipe. The petition details that when the victim collapsed onto the floor due to the force of the blows, the primary accused political leader proceeded to drag her clothing, resulting in public humiliation and a direct violation of her modesty. To prevent her from contacting emergency services or recording the incident, the primary attacker reportedly seized her mobile phone and destroyed it on the spot.
While the physical assault was taking place, the other co-accused individuals allegedly engaged in targeted theft inside the salon. The deposition records that Abdul Jabbar moved to the service counter and looted 52,000 BDT in cash from the commercial drawer. Simultaneously, Moktar Uddin Talukder approached the fallen victim and forcibly snatched a gold necklace weighing eight annas (approximately 5.83 grams) directly from her neck.
| Named Defendant | Official Status / Locality | Specific Allegations in Court Filing |
| Aminur Rahman Sarkar Dolon | Member Secretary, Monohardi Upazila BNP | Demanded BDT 100,000, orchestrated the salon raid, assaulted victim with a pipe, destroyed mobile phone. |
| Abdul Jabbar | Harordia Area, Monohardi Upazila | Participated in the illegal entry, forcibly extracted BDT 52,000 from the cash register. |
| Moktar Uddin Talukder | Arjunchar Area, Monohardi Upazila | Participated in the illegal entry, severed and stole an eight-anna gold necklace from the victim. |
Alarmed by the victim’s cries for assistance, nearby shopkeepers and local residents converged on the beauty parlour to intervene. Faced with a growing crowd of onlookers, the perpetrators issued explicit death threats to both the victim and the arriving citizens before fleeing the scene. The severely injured entrepreneur was subsequently rescued by locals and admitted to the Katiadi Upazila Health Complex, where medical personnel administered specialized treatment for her physical injuries and monitored her pregnancy status.
The legal petition highlights significant friction between the victim and local law enforcement regarding the registration of the crime. The entrepreneur stated that upon her discharge from the health complex, she went to the Monohardi Police Station to file a formal First Information Report (FIR). However, station officers reportedly refused to log the case directly, directing her to submit a written complaint instead. Although she complied and filed the written narrative, the station failed to register an official criminal case over the following weeks, ultimately prompting her to bypass the police station and seek redress via the Narsingdi district judiciary on 18 June.
Following the public disclosure of the lawsuit, the involved parties have issued strongly conflicting statements:
The Accused Politician: Aminur Rahman Sarkar Dolon has completely denied the allegations, asserting that no such physical or financial altercation ever occurred. He termed the entire legal case a baseless fabrication arising from a minor misunderstanding.
The Territorial Police: The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Monohardi Police Station, Jahangir Badsha, firmly rejected any assertions of administrative foot-dragging or institutional negligence. The OC claimed that he had no prior information regarding the incident and asserted that no female complainant had ever approached his station with these specific grievances.
The Parliamentary Representative: Monjur Elahi, the General Secretary of the Narsingdi District BNP and the sitting Member of Parliament for the Narsingdi-3 (Shibpur) constituency, characterized the legal filing as a politically motivated conspiracy. He suggested that the charges were manufactured to damage the reputation of the upazila’s party leadership. Monjur Elahi emphasized that a fair, transparent, and thorough investigation must be carried out by independent authorities before any final conclusions are drawn.
