Viqarunnisa Noon School and College has introduced a new set of regulations aimed at improving student attendance and maintaining academic discipline. According to a notice signed by the Acting Principal, Majeda Begum, on Thursday, 7 May 2026, students will now face financial penalties for unauthorised absences. These measures, approved by the institution’s Ad-hoc Committee, are scheduled to take effect from June 2026.

Financial Penalties for Unauthorised Absence
The new policy dictates that any student absent from class without an acceptable or valid reason will be required to pay a daily “absence fee.” The rates vary depending on the educational tier of the student. These charges are to be settled alongside the regular monthly tuition fees.
School Section: 50 BDT per day of absence.
College Section: 100 BDT per day of absence.
For absences caused by illness or other justifiable reasons, parents or guardians must submit a signed application within a specified timeframe. In cases involving medical issues, a valid certificate from a registered physician must be provided to avoid the financial penalty.
Attendance-Based Continuous Assessment (CA-5)
To encourage regular participation in the curriculum and foster better study habits, the institution has linked attendance directly to the Continuous Assessment (CA-5) grading system. Students will be awarded marks based on their percentage of attendance throughout the academic term. The breakdown of these marks is as follows:
| Attendance Percentage | Marks Awarded |
| 91% – 100% | 5 |
| 81% – 90% | 4 |
| 71% – 80% | 3 |
| 61% – 70% | 2 |
| 51% – 60% | 1 |
| Below 50% | 0 |
Strategic Objectives and Academic Discipline
The decision to implement these measures follows a noted decline in classroom attendance. The administration intends for these rules to reintegrate students into the regular academic cycle and ensure they remain engaged with their studies.
The notice further emphasises that students must strictly adhere to the instructions provided by teachers within the classroom to facilitate behavioural and disciplinary development. To secure better results in public examinations, the institution plans to maintain “harmonious communication” and “coordinated efforts” between teachers, students, and parents. If necessary, the school will also implement special academic arrangements to support student progress.
Official Communication Channels
To ensure the dissemination of accurate information, the school will utilise official WhatsApp groups comprising class teachers, students, and parents. The administration has requested parents to follow only the verified information published via:
The official institutional website.
The ‘Noon Batayan’ portal.
Official WhatsApp groups managed by class teachers.
These measures represent a formalised effort by the Ad-hoc Committee to restore the institution’s academic standards and ensure that all students remain committed to their educational obligations.
