A coordinated anti-narcotics operation conducted by the police in collaboration with the Rapid Action Battalion-11 has resulted in the arrest of nine individuals in Narayanganj, along with the recovery of a significant quantity of illicit drugs. The joint drive was carried out on Wednesday night across several locations within the Narayanganj Sadar Police Station area, between approximately 9:25 pm and 11:20 pm.
According to law enforcement officials, the operation was part of an intensified crackdown on drug trafficking and distribution networks in Narayanganj, where concerns have been growing over the spread of narcotics, particularly among young people.
During the coordinated search operation, officers detained nine suspects from different points in the area. A subsequent search of their persons and immediate surroundings led to the recovery of 44 yaba tablets, five litres of locally produced illicit liquor (cholai), and 25 small packets of cannabis (ganja). Authorities confirmed that all seized items were documented and formally recorded in accordance with legal procedures before being taken into custody as evidence.
The operation was executed in multiple teams, allowing simultaneous action across several strategic locations to prevent the suspects from escaping or disposing of evidence.
