A new chapter has begun in the Asian music industry with the appointment of Filipino music executive Roslyn Pineda as President of Sony Music Publishing (SMP) Asia. She will succeed long-serving President Carol Ng, who is set to retire at the end of March 2026.
Pineda, formerly the General Manager of Sony Music Philippines, will now oversee all creative and business operations across Asia. Her focus will be on expanding global support for the region’s songwriters and ensuring their work reaches a wider international audience. In her new role, she will be based in Hong Kong.
Having previously served as Vice President of Artist Relations and Business Development for SMP Asia, Pineda brings a wealth of experience to the top leadership position.

Pineda, affectionately known among Filipino fans as “Mama Sony,” is credited with relaunching the Sony Music brand in the Philippines and signing prominent acts such as SB19, Ben&Ben, and IV of Spades. She is well known for her active presence on social media in support of artists and for attending launches and press conferences.
Her international collaborations include working with global stars such as John Mayer, F4, Leehom Wang, Jessie J, Sekai no Owari, Ricky Martin, Alicia Keys, and One Direction.
