Mir Mahbubur Rahman (Snigdho), the twin brother of July uprising martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman (Mugdha) from the anti-discrimination student movement, wrote in a social media post, “The name of the fascist party chief Sheikh Hasina will haunt my mind until she is hanged.”
He made this remark in a Facebook post on Tuesday (November 11).
Later that day, actress Meher Afroz Shaon shared a screenshot of Snigdho’s post, adding the comment: “Who writes your script, brother? Please replace him quickly and hire a better scriptwriter. This script is worse than the writer of ‘Litoner Flat’.”
Earlier, in a speech, Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho mistakenly mentioned “the uncompromising leader Sheikh…” and immediately corrected himself to say “the uncompromising leader Khaleda Zia.” Netizens on social media have commented that his new post appears to be an attempt to explain that previous slip-up.
Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho, who recently became involved in BNP politics, wrote, “The name born out of hatred in my heart is Sheikh Hasina. This is not only my sentiment but also that of all the ordinary people who have been oppressed over the past 16 years.”
He further stated, “Until this killer Hasina is brought back and hanged on the soil of the country, her name will keep revolving in my mind morning, evening, consciously, and even in dreams.”
Snigdho also added, “Whenever this name comes out of my mouth, remember—it comes only from hatred. There will be no peace until this killer Sheikh Hasina is hanged. The word ‘Sheikh’ will keep coming out until this autocratic Sheikh Hasina is executed.”
