Former popular actress Lima has said that there used to be unrest in Salman Shah’s family because of actress Shabnur. She revealed this while speaking to the media.
Lima said that she considers herself fortunate to have acted in two films with the late iconic actor Salman Shah. According to her, working with him made her feel her life was fulfilled. She added that she never realised during shooting that Salman Shah had such an enormous fanbase in Bangladesh.
She said that on 6 September 1996, after Salman Shah passed away, she learned the next day that several girls had died unable to bear the shock of his death. Some newspapers wrote the number as 28, while others mentioned 18.
Lima further stated that Salman Shah was a very simple and straightforward person with no complications in his behaviour. She said she worked with him in two films—Prem Juddho and Konyadan. During the shoots, they shared many memories, too many to recount fully.
She described Salman as a cheerful person who could make everyone on the shooting set laugh.
Lima said that there was unrest in Salman’s family regarding Shabnur, and it still pains her that even after 29 years the mystery behind his death remains unresolved. She questioned whether he had been killed or had taken his own life but insisted that she does not believe Salman could ever commit suicide, as he was not that kind of person. She said that she misses him deeply.
She mentioned that although there was unrest in his family over Shabnur, Salman’s wife Samira would visit the shooting sets and treat her like a friend. Concluding her remarks, she said she wants justice for Salman’s death. Whoever was responsible should be punished. She prayed for Salman’s peace wherever he may be.
