A Walk Home Turned Nightmare
The victims, identified as Jhinuk Akter and Suraiya Akter, are both six-year-old pupils in the first grade at Kamalpur Government Primary School. The girls were walking together towards their village following the end of the school day.
Bhanu Ranjan Biswas, the Headteacher of Kamalpur Government Primary School, provided a disturbing account of the event. At approximately 1:30 PM, as the children reached the vicinity of the fire station, two men on a motorcycle suddenly veered into their path. Before the girls could react or cry for help, the men used adhesive tape to seal their mouths and forced them into a large sack.
Intervention and Escape
The suspects were reportedly in the process of hoisting the heavy sack onto their motorcycle when several local residents approached. Spooked by the presence of witnesses, the kidnappers abandoned their human cargo on the road and fled the scene at high speed. Upon opening the discarded sack, locals were horrified to find the two bound and terrified children.
