A heinous act of violence in Gaibandha has left the local community shaken, as a lawyer’s assistant was brutally murdered in his own home, raising serious concerns about public safety in the district.

On the evening of 13 February, at approximately 8:00 pm, 40-year-old Amitabh Chandra Sujan, an assistant at the District Judge’s Court, was attacked at his residence in Khamar Ballamjhar village, Ballamjhar Union, Gaibandha Sadar. According to local sources and family members, several masked assailants forcefully entered his property and launched a ferocious assault using a machete, repeatedly striking him on the head and other parts of his body.
