In addition to the life sentence, the court imposed a fine of BDT 10,000, with a provision that, in the event of non-payment, he would serve an additional six months’ imprisonment.

According to case records, on 25 November 2019 at 12:25 a.m., Sub-Inspector Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique of Hatibandha Police Station led a special raid with a team of officers. Upon noticing the police presence, the accused attempted to flee but was subsequently apprehended. During the arrest, the police recovered illicit drugs, specifically Phensedyl, from his possession. Following this, a case was registered at Hatibandha Police Station.

The court, after evaluating the evidence and witness testimony, determined that the charges against Aminur Rahman were fully substantiated.

The verdict specifies that the life sentence will take effect from the date of surrender or arrest of the fugitive. Any time the accused spent in custody during the trial will be deducted from the sentence. Furthermore, the seized drugs have been ordered to be forfeited to the state and destroyed in accordance with legal procedures. Public Prosecutor (PP) Humayun Reza Swapan commented that the court delivered the verdict after the evidence was proven beyond reasonable doubt. He further confirmed that the life sentence will only commence once the accused either surrenders voluntarily or is apprehended.
