Controversial Bangladeshi singer Mainul Ahsan Nobel has been arrested once again, this time over allegations of assault and coercion. Police allege that Nobel detained a young woman under the pretext of a marriage proposal and attempted to force her into creating inappropriate photographs and videos.
The arrest was confirmed by Murad Hossain, Investigation Officer at Demra Police Station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). He stated that Nobel was apprehended in accordance with a court-issued arrest warrant related to an ongoing case against him.
Nobel was taken into custody on Monday, 23 February, around 12:30 pm, from the Bottola area under Siddhirganj Police Station, Narayanganj. According to authorities, he is currently being held at Demra Police Station pending transfer to court.
Murad Hossain explained, “There is a legal case against Nobel for detaining and harassing a young woman under the guise of a marriage proposal. The court issued a warrant against him, which has now been executed.”
According to police reports, the incident in question occurred last year when Nobel allegedly lured the victim to his private studio with promises of marriage. She claims she was confined for an entire day and pressured into posing for objectionable photographs and videos. The victim formally filed a case on 13 August 2025.
Following a detailed investigation, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted its report to the court on 2 February 2026. On the same day, the court issued arrest warrants against Nobel and three other individuals implicated in the case. Demra Police executed the warrant against Nobel, and preparations are now underway to present him before the court.
