Authorities in Narsingdi have apprehended another key suspect in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a teenage girl, bringing the total number of arrested individuals in the case to eight. The operation took place on Sunday night in the Panchdona area of Sadar Upazila, where Ichhaak alias Isha, aged 40 and a resident of Madhabdi, was taken into custody.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Dipak Chandra Majumdar, camp commander of RAB–11 in Narsingdi, the suspect has been handed over to the relevant police station, and legal proceedings are currently underway.
Incident Details
Police reports indicate that the tragic sequence of events began when the teenage victim approached her father, seeking justice for a sexual assault. Soon after, she was abducted and later found murdered in a mustard field in Madhabdi. Her body was recovered on Thursday afternoon. On the same night of the incident, a case was filed at Madhabdi Police Station naming nine suspects, including two to three individuals whose identities were initially unknown.
Local law enforcement has intensified the investigation, with both RAB and the police working jointly to ensure swift justice. Madhabdi Police Officer-in-Charge Kamal Hossain confirmed that operations are ongoing to apprehend the lone fugitive, Abu Taher, aged 50.
